Take your pet on a walk in the heart of downtown Los Angeles through the Financial District. Here you'll find towering office buildings, luxe hotels, and posh restaurants. There's plenty of shopping opportunities throughout the neighborhood and your pup will enjoy discovering a few pet shops just a short walk outside the Financial District. The Pussy & Pooch Pethouse and Pawbar is a modern store offering designer pet products as well as their signature Pawbar, where your pet can dine from a personalized café menu on your outing.

The Financial District offers a fun walk through the bustling streets of the city made enjoyable by the fact that Los Angeles stays sunny year-round with a few rainy days here and there. While most days are perfect for a doggy excursion, be sure to check the weather before you head out. Extra hot days heat up the city sidewalks, making them too hot for puppy paws.

As the neighborhood is mostly comprised of office buildings, hotels, and tall apartment buildings, the majority of your walk will be on busy sidewalks. You'll have fun window shopping and exploring the different restaurants and cafes in the area, but be cautious while crossing streets and watch your pup as there are many distractions. There are also a few ramps onto the Harbor Freeway that borders the Financial District, so try to avoid the streets near there.

The neighborhood is a mix of flat streets and inclines and there are a few plazas throughout the area if you need a rest while businessmen hurry past you. While trees line many of the streets, there isn't a lot of random greenery in the area, but there are a few parks around. The Financial District is about a half-mile wide and long, making it easy to explore the entire area in one easy-going walk.

There are several plazas and greenways scattered throughout the Financial District where your pup will love romping around. The Maguire Gardens that encompass the Los Angeles Public Library feature beautiful flora, fountains, and shaded benches away from the noisy roads. Down the street and just out of the neighborhood boundaries is Pershing Square, a popular spot for community events and gatherings. Find a spot on the grass and enjoy the view of the 10-story purple bell tower which was part of a redesign on the park in 1994.

In addition to greenery, there are many plazas around the neighborhood with benches and shady areas that are perfect for people watching. Take a stroll down the tree-lined streets and you're sure to happen upon one! Just remember to keep your pup on their leash. If they are itching for some leash-free adventuring, head north of the Financial District to Grand Park's dog park!
