Northridge is a bustling residential Los Angeles neighborhood located in the San Fernando Valley and just a short drive from downtown. California State University Northridge (CSUN) sits in the direct center of the community, surrounded by shops, eateries, and university housing. You'll find some of the best coffee shops are near the university and many restaurants sit along Reseda Boulevard for you to visit.

There's plenty to explore throughout the neighborhood and you'll encounter quiet, residential streets as well as bustling business districts. There are a handful of pet supply stores in the western part of Northridge, but for more local options, you'll find Petitude, a supply and grooming store, in the north and All Valley Pet Grooming and Spa in the south. There are also several pet groomers near the Northridge and Porter Pet Hospitals on Parthenia Street. This diverse neighborhood offers a lot to discover during a walk with your pet.

As it sits in a valley, Northridge's streets are fairly flat, but you will encounter a few hills here and there throughout your walk. Don't let that put you off, even if you are an inexperienced walker or hiker! Northridge spans nearly 9.5 square miles, so there's so much to see and do. You can explore the university's campus or walk down quiet residential streets. Reseda Boulevard offers plenty in terms of eating and shopping, but it's one of the busier roads in Northridge. Be cautious of fast cars passing by as well as crossing busy streets as traffic may be heavy at certain times of the day.

There's lush greenery all throughout the neighborhood and you'll find streetside benches and patches of grass with shady trees everywhere if you and your pooch need a quick rest. CSUN's campus offers paths away from the roads as well as sprawling green space where you'll find students relaxing and studying.
