There are so many different places to discover during your walk in Silver Lake. The neighborhood has its hills, typical of most southern California communities. You'll find staircases throughout the area, such as the Music Box Steps, also known as the Descanso Stairs which are well-known for their appearance in 1932 short film 'The Music Box.' If you're looking for an easier walk, one of the least hilly streets is Sunset Boulevard, but be cautious as it's also the busiest.

Silver Lake offers a little bit of everything such as boutique shopping, a vibrant arts scene, and most importantly, acres upon acres of sprawling green space. The land surrounding Silver Lake Reservoir offers the most to do including a playground, basketball courts, and a two-mile walking path that takes you around the reservoir. There's even a dog park with shaded picnic tables where you can let your pet run free as long as they have good manners. Try to avoid Silver Lake Meadow, as it's the one area where dogs are not allowed.

There's also Laurel and Hardy Park, a small patch of grass at the foot of the Music Box Steps duly named after the filmmakers who created the film. Bellevue Recreation Center and Tommy Lasorda Field of Dreams are perfect for sporty pups as that's where you'll find many athletic fields, batting cages, and fields of grass perfect for watching a game.
