South Park is a mixed residential and commercial neighborhood in South Los Angeles, California. This neighborhood offers variety for residents walking in the area with commercial areas that includes hotels, restaurants, retail shops, and many different services spread throughout the area. These businesses are easily accessible for locals, as residential land and commercial areas are located adjacent to each other and well distributed. There is even a unique pet shop located in the area for pet owners to access specialty supplies.

There are quite a few parks in the area, offering green shady locations for residents to visit for a change. You may find lots of traffic in this busy neighborhood, even on residential streets, so keep your dog leashed and watch for vehicles leaving driveways and parking lots when walking with your pooch.
South Park has several pocket parks distributed in the area that provide green oasis for residents and pets with shade for you and your dog to enjoy. These include South Broadway Pocket Park, Vernon Library Pocket Park, and the 61st Street Pocket Park. There is a large recreational grounds from which South Park gets its name, located on the east side of the community, with a large property that provides greenspace for locals and their dogs.
The South Los Angeles Wetlands Park is a large park located on the site of a former bus yard and is a very unique greenway. This innovative park collects urban runoff, trash, and debris and then filters through the parks wetland area for treatment. The area provides paths for cycling and walking with your dog. The 49th Street Park and McKinley Avenue Park also located in South Park provides playground equipment and greenspace for locals with children.
