Los Angeles is home to over 8,000 people per square mile, but that doesn't mean you and your pooch can't get away from it all. L.A. Live Dog Park is located downtown, tucked behind the highway, and is covered with wood chips and dirt. There's even a doggie water fountain with a few different spigots to ensure Fido doesn't go thirsty.

If you're looking to venture out a bit further and have some interest in checking out the Hollywood sign from a distance, make a day trip to the Runyon Canyon Park. There are three different trails marked by difficulty and plenty of other dogs to meet and socialize with. Griffith Park is another local spot that is an absolute treat. Be sure to take the long hike behind the observatory and soak in the city, the views are absolutely surreal at the right time. Griffith Park boasts over 4,000 acres and tons of different activities, including but not limited to soccer, tennis, swimming, golf, biking, horse riding, L.A. Zoo, the Merry-Go-Round and not to maybe most importantly, a concert at the Greek Theatre.

Staying in the city with your furry legged friends? The Hilton Los Angeles in Universal City or the Omni Los Angeles at California Plaza are both acclaimed and pet-friendly.
