Since it is the third largest city in the area, you know there are plenty of things to do and see. The city boasts beautiful countryside and amazing sunsets over the San Francisco Bay, and natural wonders like Lake Merritt, which is a 155-acre lagoon that Oakland is known for. Lake Merritt has plenty of trails, a robust social scene, and some phenomenal views for you and Fido. You can find hundreds of things to do outdoors in Oakland, but there are some great indoor activities too.

If you like culture, you can check out the Oakland Museum of California on Oak Street or the renown, absolutely splendid, Chabot Space and Science Center on Skyline Blvd., or maybe the history ridden African American Museum and Library on 14th Street. If that isn't enough to quench your 'busy calendar' desire, there are the Oakland Asian Cultural Center on 9th Street and Oakland Aviation Museum on Boeing Street. Plenty of culture for everyone.
