Elyria Swansea is located on the eastern side of Denver, Colorado. Globeville is to the west, Commerce City to the north, and Park Hill to the south. Elyria and Swansea each began as separate towns which were annexed into Denver in the late 1880s and early 1900s and were, at that time, considered one neighborhood.

This neighborhood is composed of industrial areas at the perimeters and residential blocks near the center. There are not many restaurants or small businesses in the area, but some are clustered along Colorado Boulevard at the east side of the city. There are also some restaurants and small businesses clustered along Highway 70.

Near the southern border of Elyria Swansea, Noble Beast Dog Training can get your dog behaving with respectful training. Further south down the South Platte River, the Little Brown Dog Groomer will have your dog looking good in no time!

Homes in Elyria Swansea are generally modest single-family homes that are set back from the sidewalk behind grassy yards. With the wide streets that are not heavily trafficked, you will still feel comfortable walking your dog on a loose leash throughout most of the area. These flat streets are ideal for a casual stroll.

For a more exciting walk, you can go past the Riverside Cemetery towards the South Platte River. The South Platte River Trail runs along the river and has cute little bridges to wander over. The side of the trail that borders the main river is heavily tree-covered so that you can experience a nature hike with your dog if you like. The other side of the trail that runs along the smaller creek is sandy and provides an almost beach-like environment for you and your dog to enjoy. A little lake stands between the creek and cemetery and has shorelines that will provide a diverse experience.

Swansea Park offers a wide grassy ball field as well as nice walking trails that your dog will love. Swansea Neighborhood Park offers even more grassy areas for you and your dog to enjoy and does not have any ball fields to interrupt the landscape. Just across Highway 70, Dunham Park is a nice big grassy space with some natural shrubbery and tree cover.

More natural exploration is available if you head towards the South Platte River. The North Side Park just on the other side of the river provides lots of grassy areas for you and your dog to explore. The South Platte River Trail runs along the river for many miles and while there isn't always extensive natural area along the trail, there is always at least some grass and shrubbery on either side and beautiful views of the river all the way along for you and your pup to enjoy.
