Winter Park is a small bedroom community in the mountains of Grand County, Colorado. At times, the town can be busy with tourists, but for the most part, it is a great quiet town to hang out in with your pup. There are a few amazing parks that Fido can get a walk in, and numerous restaurants where the two of you can grab a bite to eat. With two veterinarians in town, your dog can feel safe while having a great time exploring.
The Hideaway Park is a beautiful, huge park that your dog will love. The park offers a skate park, tons of grass for fetch, a covered picnic area, a nice walking trail, and restrooms, and is known to hold a fair share of fairs and festivals, so it can be busy at times.
Grab a bite to eat at Goody's Creperie. This eatery is perfect for breakfast or lunch, and offers a wide variety of sweet and savory crepes, plus hot and cold sandwiches and paninis. Their drink menu is huge, and offers anything from coffee to beer, plus their outdoor patio welcomes your pup to join you for a good meal together.
If you and Fido are spending some time in Winter Park, check into the numerous dog friendly hotels that this town offers. The Best Western Alpenglo Lodge, Americas Best Value Inn, and Valley Hi Motel all welcome your furry pal to get a good nights rest with you.

Take Fido out to the Fraser River Trail for a great day filled with hiking. The trail is 12.8-miles long with a 597-foot elevation gain in an out and back route. While hiking, you will come across tons of different wildlife, so keep your pup on a leash while on the trail. The ground covering for the trail is asphalt and crushed stone, making it an easy road to travel on. While hiking this trail, you will be rewarded with a beautiful view of the mountains, but there isn't much shade, so make sure to bring plenty of water with you.
Take Fido out to dinner at one of the two great eateries that welcome your furry pal to dine with you. Pizza Pedal'r is a casual joint that dishes out a variety of food. Choose between salads, pizza, pasta, or sandwiches that your dog will be dying to get a lick of. The Back Bowl Soup Company serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner for your enjoyment, featuring classic favorites like biscuits and gravy, or burgers and salads. Their drink menu offers great pairings with your meal as well. Both of these delicious restaurants welcome your furry pal to grab a bite to eat with you on their outdoor patio.
The Jim Creek Trail is a great 6.6-mile path that offers a beautiful view of wild flowers as you pass the Jim Creek, and explore through the Arapaho National Forest. The Arapaho National Forest is in the Rocky Mountains and features high rockies and rivers that your dog can splash around in. The Jim Creek Trail has a 1,213-foot elevation gain on an out and back route, giving you and your pup a good days worth of exercise. You will travel through the woods on this hike, which is mainly covered by trees that offer plenty of shade. Make sure to keep Fido on leash in the area, and don't forget your water.
If you and Fido get hungry while you are out and about, stop into the plethora of restaurants that welcome your pup to join you for a meal. Volario's offers the unique flavors of Italy with a seasonal menu that is always changing, and can include lasagna or fish. Rudi's Deli is a casual eatery that serves a variety of soups, salads, and sandwiches. Smokin' Moe's Ribhouse and Saloon serves award-winning barbecue in a family fun environment. They dish out an array of burgers, soups, and sandwiches that Fido will be drooling over. All of these great restaurants offer dog friendly patios that welcome your four legged friend to join you.
Take Fido out to Wolf Park for a fun afternoon at the park with you. This pawsome park offers great amenities, like basketball courts, a gazebo, picnic area with BBQs, a pavilion for shade, playground, tennis courts, and a volleyball court. The park also offers both a bike trail and a nature trail that you and your furry pal can use for a good afternoon walk together. There are restrooms and portable water too. Your pup will love having a picnic out at this park and enjoying a good walk on the trail that is provided.
