Foxhall Crescent is a small community located in western Washington, D.C. Residentially, this neighborhood is made of luxurious, standalone, single-family homes with expansive yards and driveways. Commercially, Foxhall Crescent is home to the Spanish Ambassador, the Mt. Vernon Campus of George Washington University, the Kreeger Museum, a few churches, a few local restaurants, a public library branch, and a grocery store.

The greater D.C. area, however, is home to so much more. Are you a history buff with a love for pop culture? Visit the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History. Could you wander around art exhibits for hours? Visit Smithsonian American Art Museum and Renwick Gallery. Not one for museums and prefer to be outside? The greater D.C. area has a national park, Rock Creek Park, to explore, access to water recreation on the Potomac, or the National Mall to take a lesurely stroll around!

As a suburban neighborhood, Foxhall Crescent is a mixture of artificial and manicured terrain. While there are expansive yards, there is little in terms of natural greenways for you and your pup to visit. However, a positive of having a more artificially-built neighborhood is the presence of well-maintained sidewalks through much of the community. At least you and your pup won't have to walk in the roads with other pedestrians or motorists!

Foxhall Crescent has a few rolling hills, but there shouldn't be anything too significant for you or your pup.

The boundaries of Foxhall Crescent include Edmunds Street and 49th Street to the north, 44th Street and Foxhall Road to the east, W Street and Whitehaven Parkway to the south, and Canal Road and the Potomac River to the west. MacArthur Boulevard is a major roadway through the neighborhood and may have a higher volume of traffic, as most of the commercial business are along this road.

Foxhall Playground, located centrally in the neighborhood, is a small public park with a playground for local children, a few benches, and a short, paved sidewalk throughout. The other greenways seen on maps of the neighborhood are actually athletic fields for local schools and the Mount Vernon Campus at the George Washington University.

However, other nearby greenways include Glover Archbold Park, Potomac Palisades Parkway, Palisades Playground, Battery Kemble Park, Whitehaven Parkway, and Foundry Branch Valley Park. Additionally, the Capital Crescent Trail is located immediately to the west of Foxhall Crescent. The nearest dog park, Newark Street Dog Park, is only two miles northeast of the Foxhall Crescent neighborhood. The park is open from dawn until dusk.
