Beroja Palms is a small residential community along Lincoln Avenue, virtually in the center of the peninsula. Living here puts you within a ten-minute walk of the beach where you will find plenty of sun, sand, and surf to enjoy. The only sad part is that Cape Canaveral beaches are closed to dogs.

In this area, you will find both single and multi-family housing, creating a bustling community of locals and tourists.

One of the advantages of living on North Atlantic Avenue is that this street is home to many of the businesses in the area. While the businesses are mostly fast-food restaurants, rental car agencies, and convenience stores, you are less than a five-minute drive from a Publix Supermarket where you can fill your pantry and pick up food for your pooch at the same time. If you need more, there is a Walmart Supercenter on the other end of the West Cocoa Beach Causeway.

From sunup to sunset, traffic along both sides of North Atlantic Avenue is pretty steady. Within the residential areas and along this street, things can be hectic during morning and evening rush hours. During the school year when the buses are running, traffic can be a little crazy at times as well with the buses making so many stops.

A similar situation occurs to the east on Ridgewood Avenue, but traffic outside of these hours tend to be a little quieter and this road doesn't lead to the cruise ship parking and berths. Along with vehicular traffic, you are like to run across kids playing, people going to and coming from the beach, and other types of pedestrian traffic that you'll need to plan for. By using a short leash and ensuring that you understand your dog's limitations and tolerance for meeting and greeting strangers, you can make this a fun experience for everyone.

With the beach off-limits to dogs, the two of you can use any of the parks in town for walking or playing. The closest is Center Street Park at the end of Center Street, west of North Atlantic Avenue. It's not a very big park, but it does overlook the river, has plenty of grass and shade, and also has a pavilion for picnicking.

To ensure your pup gets in plenty of exercise and spends time socializing with other dogs and people, you should consider frequent trips to the Public Dog Park in Cocoa Beach. It's only a ten-minute drive and offers separate fenced-in areas for large and small breeds. Each section has water for the pups, plenty of shade, and seating for those who have only two legs to stand on. There is plenty of parking and access to the beach, which is great because dogs are allowed on most of the coastal shores in this area.
