The San Tomas Villas are a group of townhouses spanning between Jefferson Avenue and Adams Avenue. This location puts you half a block from North Atlantic, one of the main north-south roads in town. Each townhome has a small fenced-in backyard with enough room for your pooch to do circles in and have a quick pit stop. Beyond that, the two of you are going to have to hit the pavement if you want to get in any serious exercise.
At the intersection of Jefferson and North Atlantic, there is a handy little grocery store for the many little things you forgot to grab on your last shopping trip. There are also a few places to eat or have a drink nearby, but the bulk of stores and other amenities can be found all along the West Cocoa Beach Causeway. Some are on this side of the river while others over in Merritt Island.

There are times of the day, including both morning and afternoon rush hours, when North Atlantic Avenue can be a bustling section of road and may not be the best place to take your pooch for walks. However, if you do decide to venture this way, you will find the sidewalk on the west side of the street much wider and more suited to walking your pup. Remember that the most important thing you can do for your dog's safety is always to use a short leash.
Although there are a few streets in the residential area that don't have sidewalks on both sides of the street, you won't find many that don't have at least one. Luckily, the terrain is flat and easy to traverse, no matter what type of ground you're walking on. The quiet streets should make your walks much more enjoyable and far less stressful.

The nearest parks are a five-minute drive north on A1A and to the west on West Central Boulevard. The first is Banana River Park, where the two of you can run around on a grass field that is large enough for a full-sized soccer pitch!
Literally next-door is Manatee Sanctuary Park with a small lake. You and your pup can use the walking trails and enjoy a family picnic in the shade.
