Clear Lake Plaza is a small community of single-family homes and is home to Toppertown Inc. and Middleton Lawn & Pest Control. The entire neighborhood branches off of Clearlake Road and is across the street from Clearlake Middle School. There is a small area of woods at the east end of Clearlake Court where you might find trails to walk around on, but like most areas of Cocoa, there aren't any sidewalks until you get out onto the main road.

The nearest grocery store is at the corner of Dixon Boulevard and Clearlake Road. Harvey's Supermarket is a small store where you can pick up the items you need to keep your family fed, including the one whose tail never stops wagging! You'll also find a Family Dollar for the small things you need in the same parking lot and a Walgreens pharmacy nearby. The nearest Walmart Supercenter is less than ten minutes to the north.

Both Dixon Boulevard and Clearlake Road are bustling streets from early in the morning until late into the evening. Along with the usual rush hour traffic, with the middle school right across the street, the buses coming and going only serve to add to the confusion. If you take a walk with your dog to the south, you can stop in at the Sonic Drive-In for a burger and a soda.

No matter where you choose to take your pooch walking, be sure you use a short leash that allows you to maintain better control when walking on roads without sidewalks. This is especially important when walking along either of the busy main roads. It will also help if you come across any pedestrians during your walk.

Luckily, this area is flat and not hard to navigate. You should have no problem with tackling the terrain, no matter how capable your pup is.

Beyond the area of woods to the east, there is a power line right to the south of you that runs for miles to the east until it ends at a large field on Cox Road. You and your pup can log some serious miles walking underneath it as the grass and brush are kept under control to ensure the FPL trucks can get to the towers.

From your home in Clear Lake Plaza, it’s a straight shot south to Pluckebaum Road, the home of Barks and Recreation. Along with being a fantastic name for a dog park, the area around the fenced-in zones is one large lake with grass and trees around it. The two of you can take a nice long walk around the water before going into the appropriate leash-free area. Each zone offers a water fountain and lots of shade. The only thing missing is someone selling ice-cold sweet tea to help keep you cool while your dog runs off and plays!
