"Out in the country, but not quite" would be a good way to describe Forest Ridge. The houses in this neighborhood are large luxury homes sitting on both sides of Fairfield Drive. What makes this neighborhood so special is that it is surrounded on all four sides by dense woods and scrublands, giving you the distinct feeling of being in a more rural environment. Despite this, you can be in the center of town in less than fifteen minutes, depending on traffic.

Unfortunately, there aren't any stores within walking distance, but there are plenty for you to choose from within ten to fifteen minutes. For groceries and food for your pooch, there is a Publix Supermarket and a Walmart on SR-524. The drive should take you no more ten minutes on a good day. There are a couple of fast-food restaurants in the vicinity as well or you can head into town for more eatery options.

You couldn't ask for a better place to live, raise a family, and have a family dog! The entire Forest Ridge neighborhood is surrounded by woods and the terrain is pretty flat, offering very little in the way of a challenge when it comes to your daily walks. Fairfield Drive doesn't have any sidewalks, meaning the two of you will have to stick to the side of the street until you get out to North Range Road. Traffic in most of the region is minimal, limited only to those who live in the community.

However, North Range road itself can be fairly busy at least twice per day with the rush hours and, during the school year, you'll deal with some manner of traffic coming from the schools nearby. Fortunately, there is a paved walking trail running along the west side of this street. The two of you can use it in safety no matter what time of day you walk.

This is where Forest Ridge truly comes into its own as the neighborhood is surrounded by trees and scrub on all four sides. You and your dog should be able to find plenty of trails that take you deep into the dense woodlands as they stretch for several miles and have quite a few lakes to choose from. The woods stretch north to the Cocoa Commons shopping center.

On the other side of North Range Road is another vast area of woods and wide-open scrub for the two of you to explore. This area goes for miles to the east and south, giving the two of you plenty of room to run around. One thing to keep in mind is that these woods are home to a variety of wild animals and birds. While many are pretty to look at and will avoid you if possible, some are not quite so friendly, so keep an eye out and avoid getting too close.
