Pineridge is a vast community spanning both sides of Dixon Boulevard, close to North Cocoa Boulevard and Clearlake Road. Most of this area is filled with single-family homes packed close together with only modest yards that give you just enough room for the kids and the family dog to play. These are well-established neighborhoods, many of which have been here since the 1950s and 1960s. A large percentage of the houses are of cinder block construction, which was typical during this time period.

No matter where you live in Pineridge, you are never far from essential shopping facilities. There is a Save-a-Lot supermarket on Dixon Boulevard and, on the corner of Dixon and Clearlake, there is Harvey's Supermarket and a Walgreens. This is your typical suburban neighborhood with most of the shopping you need, including a Walmart Supercenter, less than ten minutes to the north on Clearlake Road. There are even several restaurants in the area for you to sample when you don't feel like cooking!

Within each of the three sections of Pineridge, the one thing you can't help but notice is that no one seemed to think sidewalks were needed. This leaves you and your dog with no choice but to take your daily strolls out on the roads which brings you to traffic. As you might expect in all three of the individual areas, traffic can be heavy at times, especially during the morning and evening rush hour.

The best way to keep everyone safe is to keep your dog on a standard walking leash. This will keep your pup close to you where you can keep them under better control. The flat terrain will also make it fairly easy to navigate the region for pups of any ability levels, even those who are getting up there in age. The best time of day to go out for these long walks is early in the morning before traffic starts to build up.

Sadly, there aren't any parks within any of the three sections of Pineridge for you and your dog to enjoy. There are a few large areas of open grass near the Save-a-Lot where you can take your pup for a little play time and, to the east of the northern section, there is a vast area of undeveloped land with several lakes and trails for the two of you to go for long walks around.

No dog likes to be stuck on a leash all the time when they are not at home. However, if all you do is walk around the neighborhood, that's the way it is! Why not hop in the car with your dog and head to Barks and Recreation, the nearest off-leash dog park? The park sits on a vast grassy area with a lake and hiking trail. Inside the fenced-in zone, there are separate areas for large and small breeds complete with water fountains and plenty of seating in the shade.
