If you have a home in The Country, you could almost feel as though you live far out in rural Florida, despite being close to I-95 and a small industrial park. The homes are large, upscale houses set on large yards with plenty of trees. The homes sit on Fishermans Place, a cul-de-sac off of Cox Road. There are several communities in the region, along with a large lake and a vast area of grass to the north.

This is an ideal place to have a home if you need to use I-95 to commute to work. If not, take SR-524 north and you can be at a Publix supermarket, ALDIs discount supermarket, or a Walmart Supercenter. Between these stores, you should be able to find everything your family needs, including food, treats, and toys for your favorite canine companion. Just remember that the Florida heat can wreak a bit of havoc on your furry friend!

Within the Country, there aren't any sidewalks for you and your pooch to walk on, but traffic is minimal, even during rush hours. This should make it easy for you and your dog to find times to go for walks in relative safety. You can also walk along Cox Road, though even there, you won't find any sidewalks. As an option, if you cross to the other side of Cox Road, there is a street that leads to the FPL substation. This road is generally very quiet beyond the occasional FPL service truck and takes you through a shady area of woods.

If you take a ten-minute walk to the north across the street from the Brevard Humane Society, there is a road to the right the passes a few homes and then takes you to a small lake deep in the woods. This road makes for a nice quiet walk and a change from walking within the Country where traffic can be a bit of a problem.

Living in the Country means being surrounded by green space! On the west side of Cox Road is a vast area of woods and the road that leads to the FPL substation. The two of you may find trails in the woods to use for your walks as they go all the way to I-95 and SR-524 with lakes and walkways to hike along. Keep in mind that these woods are home to a wide range of wildlife. Be careful not to approach any of the animals as not all of them are friendly.

If you prefer to take your dog to an off-leash dog park, the nearest one is Barks and Recreation on Pluckebaum Road. This dog park sits next to a lake with lots of grass to enjoy before you go into the dog park itself. There are separate fenced-in areas for large and small breeds with water fountains for the pups and plenty of shade for you to relax in.
