Derbyshire is a road running south from LPGA Boulevard to Mason Avenue. It runs through several communities of single-family homes and small businesses. It also runs past Derbyshire Park, a large park with multiple athletic fields and plenty of space for you and Spot to play around on.

For those who like to dine out, there are plenty of restaurants serving up a vast array of southern and international cuisines for you to sample. As for dog parks, the nearest fenced-in dog park is to the west at the Halifax Humane Society. Pet supply stores are also nearby, but you will have to drive to them.

Looking for a place to call home where you can take your pup for a walk virtually every day of the year? Daytona may be just what you are looking for with daytime temperatures ranging from the upper 40s in January to the upper 90s in July.

The terrain along Derbyshire is mostly suburban in nature as it is a wide street with sidewalks running up and down both sides. If you and Spot are looking for a way to get in plenty of exercise, there are plenty of residential blocks for the two of you to explore, including some lakes and Derbyshire Park itself.

If you are new to the area, there is one thing you should know about Florida, the sunshine, and the paved surfaces. Once the summer temperatures rise to the 80-degree mark or higher, the pavement will reach temperatures well above 130°F. At this temperature, any paved surface will cause discomfort and burns! During this time of the year, you should plan to take your walks during the early morning hours, long before things start heating up for the day. Even if you wait until late evening, the pavement could still be too hot to walk on.

The nearest green space is Derbyshire Park which is a large park with multiple athletic fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, and plenty of good old-fashioned grass for you and Spot to run around on. Do keep in mind that your pup must be on a leash.

If you prefer to take your dog to a fenced-in dog park, the nearest one is at the Halifax Humane Society. The community dog park features two separate play areas: one for smaller dogs and one for larger dogs. There are obstacle and agility courses, doggy watering stations, and shady places for you to sit while Spot gets out and plays with the other dogs.

If you are looking for somewhere to go out for a hike, try going west to the Tiger Bay State Forest and Tomoka Wildlife Management Area. There are miles of trails running through 30,000 acres of cypress swamps and pine-palmettos for the two of you to explore.
