Perching on the shores of the World's Most Famous Beach, the Fountain Beach Resort Condo puts you in the heart of the action. You and Spot can enjoy strolling along the 23 miles of sand and surf. You can surf the warm waters or hang out on the nearby boardwalk. You are also close enough to walk to the Peabody Auditorium where many of the top stars of today host concerts.
The Ocean Center is also close by along with some of the best restaurants in town. From long walks on the beach to great shopping nearby, the resort is a great place to spend your vacation time.
If you come in the summer months, be ready for endless days of 90 to 100-degree weather and plenty of sunshine. Come in the winter and make sure you book your vacation over the Christmas holidays when the weather is warm enough to spend time out on the beach!
The best way to describe the terrain around the Fountain Beach Resort Condo is to say that it is the perfect blend of beach on one side and suburbia on the other. If you and Spot want to get the best exercise, you need to make use of both.
On the beach, you have the fun and hard work of struggling along in the soft sand. It's a great way for both of you to get a good workout while enjoying the fresh air. When you get tired of tromping through the soft sand, you simply switch over to the sand along the water's edge. Being wet, it's much easier to walk on.
However, don't forget to take in a few walks on the sidewalks across the street. They offer firmer footing for both of you and will help keep your dog's claws ground down, reducing the amount of clipping you have to do.
The 23 miles of the World's Most Famous Beach is the closest and perhaps largest green space in the near vicinity. A few blocks to the south is the Daytona Beach Lenox Playground where there is plenty of manicured grass for you and your pup to run around on.
Beyond this, you have no choice but to get in the car. No matter which direction you and Spot drive, you are sure to run into at least one state park or forest. To the south is the Smyrna Dunes Park where you will find 73 acres of land surrounded on the three sides by water.
To the west, there are over 30,000 acres of forests and wildlands known as the Tomoka Wildlife Management Area with miles of trails to explore. To the north, it's the Tomoka and Bulow Creek State Parks along with the Tomoka Marsh Aquatic Preserve with miles of trails to wander down with your furry friend.
