Pine Lake sits towards the outskirts of town on Beville Road. The neighborhood is part of a much larger planned community and consists of single-family homes with a small lake on the east side of the area. Living here puts you across the street from a Publix grocery store and just down the road from a Walmart Supercenter along with a number of other small businesses. However, if you want a park to play in or somewhere to eat out, be prepared to drive back into town.
Luckily, living out here puts you in a nice home with a suburban size yard where you can enjoy the endless sunshine and 90-degree weather summers that Daytona is famous for. Imagine still being able to barbecue and use the heated pool in the winter! The coldest month is January when the daytime temperatures are typically in the low 50s.
What is the terrain like in Pine Lake?
The terrain out here is typical of suburban Daytona with several small lakes and ponds, lots of "cookie cutter" homes, and plenty of blocks with sidewalks. The ground here is very flat and has little to offer in the way of a challenge for an athletic dog, but don't let the absence of rolling hills keep you both from getting the exercise you need!
When you don't have hills to climb, you can substitute distance and with so many residential blocks to work your way around, getting your exercise shouldn't be a problem. The only real problem is the pavement as it can be very hard on your pup's paws. Be sure you start with short walks until they toughen up. You should also be keenly aware of the temperature of the pavement during the summer months as it can get fairly hot in the heat of the day. Venture out earlier or later to avoid any extreme temperatures.

When combined, they cover more than 30,000 acres of pine-palmettos, scrubs, deep Florida forests, and more. There are numerous lakes and ponds to seek out, miles of trails for the two of you to explore, and an incredible amount of wildlife that is probably as curious about you as you are about them!
While almost half the WMA was badly damaged or destroyed in the 1998 wildfires, most of it has been restored and grown back, creating an incredible variety of scenery between old and new growth to explore. With plenty of space, you certainly won't be short on space to run and play.
