Roosevelt Park is a neighborhood of single-family homes located along George W. Engram Boulevard and just north of N. Nova Road. There is a small man-made lake next door and living here puts you within driving distance of several small parks. You have quick access to the Community Dog Park at the Halifax Humane Society where you can let Spot run around off-leash. It also puts you within easy driving distance of the Tiger Bay State Forest and Wildlife Management Area.

If you like warm weather, you will love living here in Daytona. Summers hit the mid-to-high-90s with endless days filled with blue skies and nary a cloud to be seen! Winters, on the other hand, offer plenty of sunny days and the coldest days are in January where the daytime temperatures stay in the upper 40s and low 50s. Enjoy plenty of perfect weather for long walks on the beach!

The terrain in Roosevelt Park is typically suburban with lots of sidewalks for the two of you to take your daily walks along. While the terrain may be flat here, there is a small lake complete with a walking trail to enjoy.

The most important thing to keep in mind is that you and your dog both need to get out and enjoy as much of the Floridian fresh air as you can. There are so many residential blocks to take your strolls around that neither of you should become easily bored as long as you take the time to be creative. Never settle for walking around the same block day after day as even your dog will get bored after a while!

The one thing you do need to keep in mind is that during the summer months in Daytona, any paved surface will be so hot by midday that it could cause some discomfort. Be aware of daytime temperatures before heading out.

Beyond the lake and walking path, the next nearest green space of any size is Tuscawilla Park. The park is home to a zip line adventure ride and a 65-pin disc golf course. It is also home to picnic areas, woods, and room for you and your dog to play.

If you prefer somewhere a little larger to play, you should take Hwy 92 and head west. In just a few miles, you'll be at the Tiger Bay State Forest and Tomoka Wildlife Management Area. The area offers over 30,000 acres of Florida wildlands. The park also offers miles of trails open to horseback riders, cyclists, and playful pooches! Getting out in nature is the best possible way for you to get plenty of good, healthy exercise.

Don't forget to keep a close eye out for alligators as they tend to make their home nearby. Keep your pup close to avoid any interaction with dangerous wildlife.
