Living in the Wall Street Lofts Condos on East Magnolia truly puts you in the heart of the action. The condos offer a rooftop garden for you to enjoy complete with barbecue grills, a fire pit, a bar for entertaining, and a spectacular 360° view of the downtown area.
There are several excellent fine dining restaurants within walking and driving distance. The only thing you have to drive to might be somewhere to buy your pup's favorite snacks and foods. Luckily, just across S Beach Street is a park with a walking trail running along the river for you and your dog to enjoy walking along.
There is plenty to love about living here in Daytona, but the endless sunshine and scorching 90°F weather in the summers can't hurt either! Even the winters are great with temperatures hanging out in the low fifties at their low point in January.
There is more pavement around the condo building than grass, but there is the park along the river you can use for your walks. The trail not only runs along the river, but there is a footbridge across the water to the library. You can create long walking loops that start where you cross S Beach, take the trail north, and cross the bridge. Follow the trail and sidewalks south past Jackie Robinson Memorial Park to the Orange Avenue Bridge and then back to your starting point.
Before you get too carried away, give your dog's paws time to toughen up as the pavement can be a bit rough on them. Also keep in mind that once the temperature outside hits the 80°F mark, you need to take your walks early in the morning before the pavement has time to heat up to the point at which it can cause discomfort and burns.
You will have to look a little further afield if you want more green space for the two of you to play in. One of the more popular options for those who live in the neighborhood is to hop in the car and cruise over to the beach. The salt air, the sand, and the water all make for an incredible walking or jogging experience.
The best time of day is during the morning when the beach is quiet and the two of you can have a blast without worrying about bothering others. If your pup is like most dogs, they probably love going for rides in the car.
For a treat every once in a while, the whole family should head west to the 400,000 acres that comprise the Ocala National Forest. Throughout the forest, there are 600 lakes, over 200 miles trails to explore, plenty of places to swim, fish, hike, ride bikes, and many other recreational facilities.
