Key West is a beach resort located on several of the famed Keys islands on the most southern part of Florida. The tropical climate, sandy beaches, and azure blue ocean bring many people and their pets to this accommodating town for both short-term as well as permanent stays.

Key West, Florida, is very friendly to dogs in particular as many of its attractions that bring the tourists to the tropical paradise are open to pooches and pups as well. The Key West Shipwreck Treasure Museum, Ernest Hemingway Museum, Key West Tropical Forest and Botanical Garden and Aquarium allow dogs to be brought along on a leash.

One of the most interesting attractions in Key West are the eco-tours at Wild about Dolphins. Each tour lasts 4 hours long and includes snorkeling and of course, viewing dolphins. Dogs are allowed to board the boat as well.

As Key West, Florida, is surrounded by water there are naturally many beaches in the area. The Key West Dog Beach, Higgs Beach Dog Park and Fort Zachary Taylor State Park all offer dogs the opportunity to run and romp around without being tied town to a 6-foot leash.

The Higgs Beach area in Key West is located on the south side of the island overlooking the ocean, offering gorgeous views and coastal breezes. CB Harvey Rest Beach Park has a picnic area and a boardwalk directly on the shoreline, making it the pawfect place to walk with your on-leash pooch and look for shells! Higgs Beach Dog Park is in CB Harvey Rest Beach Park, where they provide pups with a safe, fenced, off-leash play area. Key West Dog Beach allows pups to have some fun in the sun and water. Just be careful of the rocks!
