Bryan Homestead is a community of single-family homes built on large yards with plenty of room for you and your family to enjoy and for your pup to run around on. The neighborhood sits on the outskirts of town along SR-44 past the Chevy and Ford dealerships. This is an excellent place to live for those who commute to the Cape, Jacksonville, Daytona, or even out to Orlando as the I-95 interchange is less than two minutes away on SR-44.

There are a few places to eat out here, but if you want a restaurant that isn't fast food, you have to go back to town. The trip into town, however, is only five minutes away, making it fairly easy to make the commute. Living out here also puts you within a short drive of several green spaces where you and your dog can spend countless hours hiking on your choice of terrain.

The terrain out here is rural in that the homes have large yards. There are more trees than roads and the only real traffic that whizzes by is on SR-44. Within the residential area, you aren't likely to see much in the way of vehicular traffic beyond the usual crowds during rush hours. But these never last long so you and your pooch can easily plan your walks around them.

The roads out here are very rural in nature in that they do not have sidewalks for the two of you to use for your daily walks. While this is not necessarily a bad thing, it does mean the two of you will be walking on the streets and with the amount of shade created by the woods alongside them, you need to take extra care. Wear light-colored clothing and walk against the traffic to help keep you safe during your daily walks.

The community is surrounded by woods, some of which are private property, others of which are open and have trails for you and your dog to enjoy. The trails offer plenty of shade to help keep you cooled down on a hot summer day. To the west, there are hundreds of acres of woods filled with trails and lakes to enjoy walking in.

If you prefer to walk in a sanctioned park, then a ten-minute drive to the west will take you all the way to the South Tomoka Wildlife Management Area which is part of the larger Tiger Bay Wildlife Management Area, a nature preserve of over 30,000 acres. The WMA is filled with miles of trails that are open to cyclists and hikers with their pups. In the summer of 1998, over half of the preserve was badly damaged or destroyed. In the time since then, the preserve has reestablished itself thanks to lots of help from teams of volunteers.
