Wag! Walkers know Coconut Palms

Coconut Palms Beach Resort is another beachfront condominium on S Atlantic Ave in New Smyrna Beach. Living here ensures a spectacular view of the sun rising up from the ocean in the morning or of the sun setting into the horizon, depending on which unit you are staying in. The beach is on your doorstep, offering miles of sand and surf for you and Fido to enjoy with spectacularly warm waters to surf or swim in.

With summer temperatures in the 90s and plenty of sunshine, you can't beat the beach for early morning walks and a quick dip in the ocean. Of course, even if you are here during the winter months, daytime temperatures in the 60s and 70s mean that you and your pooch will still be able to go for your daily walks. Shopping, pet supplies, and a selection of the top restaurants in town are all with a short drive of Coconut Palms.

What is the terrain like in Coconut Palms?

When it comes to living on the beach, you have three unique types of terrain to choose from for your daily walks. The first is the sidewalks and paved roads to the west of Coconut Palms. Flat, unexciting, and during the summer months, extremely hot by mid-afternoon, these paved surfaces can give you somewhere to walk in the rain or for a change of pace.

The second is the dry soft sand at the edge of the beach. This type of sand tends to suck at paws and feet, making it hard to walk. This is sure to give everyone's leg muscles and lungs a good workout.

The third is the hard, wet sand at water's edge. Because the sand is wet, it is easy to walk on which is perfect for a young pup or an elderly dog. With these options close at hand, you'll be sure to find a good place to stroll from day to day.

How many greenways are there in Coconut Palms?

The beach is, of course, the nearest open space. It runs north to the Ponce de Leon Inlet and south for many miles. With its dual types of terrain, it offers you and your pooch a great way to get in your daily workout before cooling off in the ocean. The best time of day to take your four-legged friend walking on the beach is during the early morning hours before it starts to get hot and fill up with people.

A ten-minute drive to the north is Smyrna Dunes Park. This park offers a large area of open space for you and your pup to walk around and play in. While this is a dog-friendly park, your dog must be on a leash. However, there are numerous nature trails for the two of you to hike along and a beach where both of you can play before cooling off in the inlet.
