The Malibu Condo is conveniently located on A1A where E 3rd Avenue turns into S Atlantic Avenue which puts you close to a supermarket where you can stock the fridge and buy pet supplies. Along E 3rd, there are several restaurants and stores worth taking a look at. A little further to the north is Flagler Avenue, a historic street filled with boutiques, unique stores, more restaurants, and excellent taverns.
There are, of course, many benefits to having a condo on the beach starting with the ability to be on the sand the minute you walk out the door! For those with a beachside condo, you can sit out on your balcony in the morning with a cup of coffee and watch the sunrise over the Atlantic Ocean. Then you can take your pooch out for a walk on the dunes before it starts to become crowded with cars and people.
This condo is located in a bustling area of the beachside. A1A is the main highway running along the beach providing access to hundreds of homes and businesses. You can expect to see a lot of vehicular traffic from early morning until late at night. Walking along this road can be dangerous enough, but when you are walking with your dog it can be even more challenging.
Whether you walk your dog along A1A or on the sand, traffic is something you both will have to get used to. Pedestrian traffic along A1A can be quite busy, especially with so many tourists walking to and from the beach along with the various local shops. While there isn’t any shopping on the coast, it is still crowded with cars and people all day long. Care is needed when going for walks during the day to avoid being run over or causing other issues with your pup.
Having a condo located on the beach puts you on top of a vast green space that you and your dog can put to good use for your daily walks. Start out early in the morning before things start heating up and the beach starts to get busy. Use the soft sand that is hard to walk in for your outbound leg, then use the wet sand to walk back. It takes far less effort and gives both of you a chance to play in the surf and cool off.
A short drive to the north on N Peninsula Drive will take the two of you to Smyrna Dunes Park. This is one of the only dog-friendly parks in the county. Inside the park is two miles of boardwalk built to protect the sensitive sand dunes from excessive foot traffic. Here, you can take your dog to the beach and out for a swim in the inlet.
