The Woodlands at Sugar Mill One is a small neighborhood of single-family homes sitting on two cul-de-sacs and the edge of the Sugar Mill Country Club and Golf Course. With only one access road running past the street leading to your home, traffic here is typically limited.

The Sugar Mill CC is one of several outstanding golf courses in the area. First opened in the 1970s, the course was designed by renowned course designer Joe Lee. This is a "members only" club that offers a total of 27 holes that can be played in three different pairs based on handicap.

If you live out, you must be prepared to drive if you want places to eat when you don't feel like heating the kitchen up on a 90-degree summer day. You have a large area of undeveloped woods to the east where you might find trails to walk your dog on. There are also several other parks in the area to check out.

Living here puts you in a very quiet neighborhood with the only exception being the occasional shout of, "Fore!" This is an excellent place to live and take your dog for walks. The amount of traffic you have to worry about is minimal and consists mostly of those who live here.

While you might not be able to take your dog for walks out on the course, there are sidewalks running through the neighborhood for the two of you to use. You might even find a few trails in the woods at the end of Gleneagles Drive that you and your dog can use to take walks out of the direct sunshine when the summers start to heat up.

As for traffic within the community, the only traffic you are likely to run across is the few people who live on one of the two cul-de-sacs. You might also run into others taking their dogs for walks, but that's about all.

The golf course itself is a vast green space oasis in the surrounded by forest lands and fields. The golf course shouldn't count since you can't take your dog for walks on it, but the woods around you may have some trails you can follow.

To the east is the beach with miles of sand and surf where you and your dog can play to your heart's' content. The beach offers dry sand that is hard to walk in, wet sand that is much easier, and the water where the two of you can go swimming to cool off.

If it's wooded trails you crave, then you and your pup need to go to the Doris Leeper Spruce Creek Park. Here, you can wander along the trails meandering through over 1,600 acres of swamps and woods. This is a very popular place to go hiking, so don't be too surprised when you run across others out there doing the same thing!
