Keystone Point is a neighborhood located near the Keystone Islands area of North Miami. It is relatively upscale with expensive homes and condominiums making up the majority of the residential part of the neighborhood. It also has a major commercial thoroughfare called Biscayne Boulevard which runs through its center, featuring chains and local small businesses that are frequented by locals along the North Miami shore.

The weather in Miami is stereotypically hot and humid and its location on the beach makes it a popular summer tourism destination. Its average temperatures in the summertime are almost always in the mid to upper 80s, with several 100 degree days. The winters are mild, hardly ever dipping below 50 or 60 degrees with no treacherous condiotions. If you and your dog are walking around in the summer, you will want to make sure both of you are properly hydrated in the heat and humidity.

The terrain in Keystone Point is extremely flat, a characteristic that is shared by most of the southern part of Florida. This will make walking fairly easy for you and your dog as you are not likely to encounter any hills or dramatic shifts in elevation. There are loads of palm trees along the side of all the streets and the environment is mostly artificial, with a few small areas that are more natural.

Traffic is likely to be heavy at most times of day in Keystone Point, mostly due to its popularity and major commercial area. Rush hour, especially along roads like Biscayne Boulevard, will be laden with foot and street traffic, so it will be best to avoid this area if you are on a walk with your dog. Sticking to the more residential areas of the community or venturing into Keystone Islands will give you a more relaxing walking experience.
