Fly In Spruce Creek is a unique community located next to the Spruce Creek Airport. What makes this section of residential housing so different is that the roads running through the area are not just roads. They are wide enough to be taxiways for the many personal aircraft owned by the residents here! Many of the homes have an attached garage that is large enough to be used and a hangar for many types of personal aircraft.

Fly In Spruce Creek is a very private community, but it is only ten minutes from the heart of town, the I-95 interchange, and Dunlawton Avenue which is the main east-west highway through town and the central shopping zone in the city. There you will find a fantastic array of superstores, supermarkets, pet supply stores, salons, and many others amenities along with a great selection of restaurants for you and your family to enjoy.

One side benefit of living at Fly In Spruce Creek is the relative peace and quiet. This is a very private community with limited access to the outside world which helps keep traffic to a minimum. The one thing you and your dog will need to get used to is the occasional personal aircraft on the taxiways. It's quite normal out here, but does take some time to adjust and your dog may need a bit of extra help to know how to handle nearby aircraft.

Be sure you keep your dog on a short leash and off to the side of the taxiways when going out for walks together. This will keep you both out of harm's' way should an airplane go by. Luckily, the entire area is flat, as is necessary for passing aircraft, so you're sure to have no problems making your way here and there during your strolls with your pet.

Within the community of Fly In Spruce Creek, you won't find much in the way of open green space. However, there is a vast area of woods to the northwest of the community where you and your dog should be able to find plenty of trails to hike under the shady canopy.

There are several other great places to take your dog for long walks within driving distance. If you take Turnbull Bay Road, it will lead you to one of the entrances to the Doris Leeper Spruce Creek Preserve. The preserve covers over 1,600 acres of woods and wetlands to explore.

If you turn west on Pioneer Trail, your journey will take you to the South Tomoka Wildlife Management Area, a vast area of forests, meadows, lakes, rivers, and streams. It is also home to miles of trails where you and your pup can spend hours enjoying the outdoors and the many wild inhabitants of the area who you may see on your walks.
