Lone Oak is an upscale community in the southern part of Port Orange and at the corner of Spruce Creek Road and Central Park Boulevard. The neighborhood has lakes at both the east and west ends and there is a small general store on the corner. The yards here are heavily shaded and feature beautifully manicured lawns as you might expect in this type of neighborhood.

Beyond the corner store, everything you and your family are likely to need can be found to the north on Dunlawton Avenue. Along Dunlawton, you can find everything from Applebee's to Walmart all within the space of a couple of miles. Along with being the main road through town, Dunlawton is also the connector to I-95 and all points north and south.

The only dog park in town is right across the street. The beach is only ten minutes away and the Doris Leeper Spruce Creek Preserve is less than twenty minutes from your doorstep.

Even upscale communities like Lone Oak have to deal with a certain amount of rush hour traffic. But with only a couple of roads into the neighborhood, the only traffic you are likely to run into is those who live here. With sidewalks running around each street, you and your pup should not be bothered by most of the vehicles driving past.

However, as a family-friendly community, the two of you are certain to run into children of all ages at play. While it would be great if the kids would all play safely in their backyards, most tend to play in the front yards, on the sidewalks, and in the streets. You'll have to keep an eye out for them, in case someone should decide to come running to pet your pup! Keeping your dog on a short leash will help you to maintain better control in case your pooch should try to lunge or bolt.

One of the best things for dog lovers who live here is the Seemore Memorial Dog Park on the other side of Spruce Creek Road. The park covers a full acre and is divided into fenced-in areas for bigger breeds and smaller dogs. For you and the rest of the dog owners, there are plenty of benches to sit on while your dogs play together.

The good news is that the dog park is right next door to the All Children's Park. This park has a large pirate-themed playground for the younger kids, sports fields for the older kids, and a nice shady pavilion for everyone to sit under for a picnic!

The beach is only fifteen minutes to the east over the Dunlawton Avenue bridge. You can park your car on the sand and then hike as far as you can handle, enjoying the varied terrain and the warm coastal waters.
