Spruce Creek Run is a small community of single-family homes just south of busy Taylor Road. Living here puts you close to both Spruce Creek Elementary and High Schools. For those who commute north to Daytona, St. Augustine, or even Jacksonville, I-95 is two minutes to the west. You can also use the interstate to commute down to the Cape.

One of the great things about living here is your proximity to essential amenities such as department stores, grocery stores, gas stations, pet supply stores, and a wide selection of places to eat ranging from chain restaurants to privately-owned family restaurants, all of which are well worth checking out.

Spruce Creek Run suffers from a lack of usable green space, but you are not that far from places like the beach and the Doris Leeper Spruce Creek Preserve. Both offer you great places to get out and go hiking in the fresh air.

One of the benefits of living in a cul-de-sac community like Spruce Creek Run is the absence of heavy traffic all day long. That's not to say you won't have to deal with some of it during rush hours and when the school buses are running, but beyond this, there isn't much reason for traffic beyond residents. However, Taylor Road to the north tends to be a bustling road.

Not only are both the Spruce Creek Elementary and High Schools on this road, but it also connects with Dunlawton Avenue and, from there, directly to I-95 for those who must commute for work. Along with this, the shopping centers clustered around the intersection of I-95 and Dunlawton tend to bring in plenty of vehicular traffic.

Providing you and your pooch stay in the residential areas, there are plenty of shade trees to help keep the sun off your head and shoulders while the two of you go for your daily walks.

When it comes to finding green spaces, the nearest ones are going to be a bit of a drive. If an off-leash dog park is what you are looking for, the Seemore Memorial Dog Park offers two separate fenced-in areas. Each section has water for the dogs and plenty of shade for everyone!

To the south is the 1,637-acre Doris Leeper Spruce Creek Preserve filled with miles of trails to explore. The trails take you through a range of environments including swamps and dense forests that provide plenty of shade to help keep the two of you cooler during the summer months.

To the east is the beach where you and your pup can enjoy hiking for as many miles as you can handle on the sand. It's a great way to spend time together in the fresh air and Florida sunshine in a space that is away from the pavement.
