Beyond residences, Buckhead Village is home to a variety of business. You will find nationally-known grocery stores, a general pet supply store, some workout studios, an upscale shopping complex, and plenty of local restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. This combination of the residential and commercial is pretty typical of the larger Buckhead area in Atlanta.
During the summer month, Buckhead Village will likely have high temperatures, sunny days, and plenty of humidity. The winter will, thankfully, be a bit more mild with only chilly temperatures and some rainfall. Snow is a rarity in Atlanta.
Buckhead Village may be an exciting place to walk, but there are a few considerations to keep in mind. First, with such an urban environment, there is likely to be more congested, high-speed traffic. Thankfully, there are plenty of sidewalks for you and Fido to use! Along with the more urban environment, there are few public grassy areas for you and Fido to have a quick pit-stop. Additionally, Buckhead Village is relatively flat, but there are some pretty noticeable hills in the southwest corner of the neighborhood. The boundaries of Buckhead Village include Peachtree Road to the north, Piedmont Road to the east, Pharr Road to the south, and Roswell Road to the west. East Paces Ferry Road is another major roadway that runs east-to-west through Buckhead Village. Because this is a popular area with plenty of local restaurants and shopping, you and Fido should always be cautious and aware of your surroundings while out exploring for the day.
Thankfully, there are a few other greenways within walking distance of Buckhead Village. The largest of these nearby parks is Frankie Allen Park. This public greenway is home to several sports facilities, a large open field for general recreation or picnicking, a small, historic cemetery, and a small creek. Unfortunately, there is not an off-leash area in this park and Fido will need to remain on a leash at all times.
Other nearby greenways include Pharr Circle Park, Veterans Park, Sunnybrook Park, Garden Hills Park, Alexander Park, and Parkside Drive Park. Unfortunately, there are no dog parks within walking distance of Buckhead Village.
