Peachtree Park is a residential community located in the northern suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia. Part of this neighborhood has been named a national historic landmark as it was built in 1915 primarily for railroad workers and laborers that were in the surrounding areas. Peachtree Park is conveniently located in the Buckhead area of Atlanta known for its vibrant nightlife and excellent local restaurants.

Atlanta itself is the state capital of Georgia and is home to attractions like the Georgia Aquarium, Centennial Olympic Park, Atlanta Botanical Garden, World of Coca-Cola, Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park, and Six Flags Over Georgia.

Atlanta experiences hot and humid summers and they can be quite brutal, so always make sure you carry extra water for you and Fido on those summer walks. Thankfully, spring and fall are a bit more mild with winter bringing chilly weather and more rainfall, but rarely any snowfall.

Residents of Peachtree Park call their neighborhood their "Island in the City." This is largely in part because of the many trees and amenities this neighborhood provides. Luckily for city-dwellers, this doesn't change the fact that Peachtree Park is a suburb of Atlanta, a major metropolis, and is largely composed of artificial or manicured terrain.

Despite the historic nature of their neighborhood, the beautiful manicured lawns, and the many large trees, Peachtree Park does have some walkability issues for pedestrians. This neighborhood is quite hilly with significant changes in elevation. Additionally, there are almost no sidewalks throughout the residential community. While out walking with Fido, always be aware of your surroundings and keep your pup on a secure leash, particularly at night!

The boundaries of Peachtree Park include Peachtree Road to the north, T. Harvey Mathis Parkway to the east, Darlington Circle and railroad tracks to the south, and Piedmont Road to the west.

You may not see it looking on a map, but Peachtree Park does have several greenways and non-residential areas for you and Fido to explore. Darlington Circle Park is a tiny greenway located in the southern part of the neighborhood and this small park has a sitting area, a few plants, and a Little Free Library where locals can take a book in exchange for leaving another.

Another greenway in the neighborhood is Pocket Park Playground, however, even though this small playground is fenced in, that is for the children's safety and Fido should still remain leashed at all times.

Unique to this suburban neighborhood, you will find the Peachtree Park Nature Trail, a one-acre walking and nature walkway. This short trail is the perfect addition to your daily walk, particularly if you and Fido want to get off the hot roads during the summer or are looking for a serene escape from the urban landscape.
