Ridgedale Park is a small residential community located in the northern suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia. Atlanta is the state capital of Georgia and, as a major metropolis, boasts plenty of cultural opportunities, large businesses, and attractions. Atlanta is home to a major international airport, the largest group of historically black colleges in the country, art and history museums, corporation headquarters, plenty of shopping complexes, and tons of local restaurants, many of which are known for their traditional Southern food.

Ridgedale Park is located in the Buckhead area of Atlanta. This area is particularly well-known for its upscale shopping, restaurants, and its lively nightlife. Ridgedale Park, however, is more of a residential community composed of standalone, single-family homes. There are also a few condominium complexes, some more upscale and others that are more moderate, and an assisted living facility in Ridgedale Park. Thankfully, many amenities like grocery stores and shopping complexes are within close distance to this neighborhood.

Atlanta suburbs can be a bit hilly, and Ridgedale Park is no different; thankfully, the hills you and Fido will experience tend to be rolling hills, and nothing too steep or strenuous to walk. Additionally, Ridgedale Park does have a good number of mature tree--particularly for such an urban area! This will come in handy during those sunny summer days!

Unfortunately, this neighborhood is definitely lacking sidewalks for you and your furry friends to use. This means that you will need to share the roadways with other pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists, so always exercise caution and make sure Fido's leash is secure! Thankfully, because this is a residential community, you hopefully won't be sharing the roads with any high-speed traffic.

The boundaries of Ridgedale Park include Peachtree Road to the north, East Club Drive to the east; railroad tracks to the south, with Roxboro and Peachtree Dunwoody Roads to the west.

Unfortunately, there are no greenways located in the Ridgedale Park neighborhood and the greenways within walking distance are limited. The nearest greenway, located half a mile north of the neighborhood, is Vermont Road Park. This public greenway, unfortunately, is an unkempt patch of trees and natural vegetation and doesn't have many dog or pedestrian-friendly areas.

A mile and a half to the east, you will find Fernwood Park. Again, this greenway is also an unkempt patch of trees and natural vegetation.

However, if you are willing to travel just a bit further, you will find Brookhaven Park just over a mile and a half northeast of Ridgedale Park. This public park is home to baseball fields, basketball courts, a picnicking area and playground, a community garden, and fields for general recreation. This dog-friendly park is also in the planning phase of creating a five-acre, off-leash, fenced-in area for you and Fido to explore!
