Montclair is a very small, residential community located in Augusta, Georgia. Augusta is the second-largest city in the Peach State with Atlanta taking the top title. Located on the Savannah River, immediately on the Georgia-South Carolina border, Augusta is home to Augusta Riverwalk, several historic districts and homes, Augusta University, and is well-known for annually hosting The Masters, one of the most popular and prestigious golf tournaments in the United States.

Montclair itself is a small residential community composed of standalone, single-family homes. The homes in this middle-class community are typically one-floor and have expansive yards. Beyond residential properties, Montclair is home to a bicycle shop and a small accessories boutique, but you can find apartment complexes and other necessities nearby.

Summers in Augusta can be a bit brutal. Temperatures rise and so do the humidity levels! Winters, however, should not be too difficult as you will experience milder temperatures and some rainfall. Luckily, snow is a rare occurance.

Montclair should be an enjoyable neighborhood to walk around in. As a residential community, there shouldn't be high-speed traffic for you and your pup to avoid, however, sidewalks seem to appear sporadically throughout the neighborhood, so make sure you are always aware of your surroundings and have your furry friend under control.

Like the rest of Augusta, Montclair does have some rolling hills throughout the neighborhood. As you move southwest in Montclair, you will experience a gradual decrease in elevation, so plan your walking route accordingly! A positive of Montclair is all the large trees throughout the neighborhood. While you are our walking in the summer months, you will have plenty of shade!

The boundaries of Montclair include Thread Needle Road West, Old Church Road, and Washington Road to the north, Warren Road to the southeast, Indian Trail and Chatham Road to the south, and Sandy Run Court, Lutheran Road, and Crane Ferry Road to the west.

Unfortunately, there is only one greenway located in Montclair, but there are a few in surrounding areas. On Crane Ferry Road in the southwest part of the neighborhood, you will find Montclair Park. This greenway is a smaller park with a playground, a large field for general recreation, a few courts for pickleball or tennis, and a small creek. Your furry friends are welcome at Montclair Park, but, as there is no off-leash area, they will need to be leashed at all times.

Warren Road Park, almost immediately west of Montclair, is a nearby greenway that would be easy for you and your pup to walk to. Warren Road Park is home to a community center with plenty of amenities and sports facilities.

Other nearby parks include Brookfield Park, Kelley Park, Big Oak Park, and Westover Memorial Park. The nearest dog park, or Bark Park, is over eight miles away at Pendleton King Park.
