Hello! My name is Tom, and I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t absolutely delighted by the mere presence of a dog. Growing up with family members who had intense allergies, I never had a pup of my own. Luckily, moving to Georgia back in 2018 has granted me the opportunity to help care for my roommate’s pug Marcy. I’ve just past the one year mark working for Wag and so far, every minute on the job has been a joy. I enjoy walking and will always ensure your best friend has a safe and fun time.

Dog Walking in Tyrone

The town of Tyrone is located in Fayette County, approximately 25 miles southwest of Atlanta, and named after Tyrone in Ireland. It is a great little place to bring your pup for a visit, with several pet-friendly dining options, parks to wander around, and lots of puptastic places close by to explore. There is one animal hospital in town, should Fido need some help.

Shamrock Park has a lovely half-mile track around the lake where you can take your pooch for a little on-lead stroll. At the park, there are toilet facilities, shade, plenty of seating, and grass to enjoy. From here, take a walk north to Smoothie King. There are two pet-friendly outside tables here, where you can sit and relax with your pup over a delicious fresh fruit smoothie or juice.

Dorothea Redwine Park is another little greenspace in town where you can take your pup for an on-lead walk. The main attraction is the softball field, but there is a track you can walk around with plenty of grass to enjoy.

From Tyrone, there is easy access to many other dog-friendly towns, such as Fayetteville and Peachtree City, as well as numerous lakes, creeks and rivers to check out. Whatever you decide to do, you and your dog are sure to have a great time staying in Tyrone.
