Dog Walking in Creston

Creston is a city and the county seat of Union County located in southwest Iowa, 100 miles southeast of Omaha and 75 miles southwest of Des Moines. The city, set among beautiful rolling hillsides, is one of the nicest places to visit on vacation, offering a variety of outdoor activities paired with cultural and historical experiences. Almost all the dog parks are concentrated around Des Moines -- the same goes for pet-friendly cafes and shops. You will have to travel to find a cool place to hang out with Iowa’s locals and their dogs; however, if you need some medical help, two veterinary clinics in Creston are always at your service.

Green Valley State Park is an extensive recreation area in the north Creston, offering an opportunity to enjoy a leashed stroll down the prairies and in the woods along the walking trails. This is not a dog park, and your mutt should stay on-leash at all times.

Want some off-leash fun? Get ready to travel! You can enjoy the multitude of dog parks available in Des Moines. Don't want to head into the big city? Drive to Atlantic, Iowa instead, where you'll find Buck Creek Dog Park! This is a fully fenced, pet-friendly facility with benches and plenty of grass to run off-leash and make friends.
