This community is very hilly, wooded, and has many natural areas and ravines. Roads wind and follow the natural terrain and properties are uniquely shaped to accommodate elevation changes and the road paths. Pedestrians in the area may find some of the steep inclines a challenge when walking with their dogs in the region. The area is heavily treed, especially to the south, with mature trees throwing lots of shade in the area, creating a respite from the heat in summer.

This neighborhood is a historic district with even some mansions located in the region. Architecture varies but includes Tudor Revival, Mediterranean Revival, Colonial Revival, Dutch Colonial, Georgian, and American Craftsman. There are even some brick streets remaining in the neighborhood that are still in good condition. Because of the thick vegetation and winding roads, be sure that when you walk your dog in the area, you are careful to watch out for traffic.
