Jeffrey Manor is a lovely neighborhood with midsize single-family homes on large lots. The architectural design of these homes is diverse, but most are set back behind grassy lawns and many of the yards are not fenced. Landscaping tends to be fairly well maintained with lots of mature trees that provide plenty of shade throughout. Sidewalks are wide and well divided from the street, so using a flexi-lead or a longer leash is typically just fine in this area.

The roads of this planned community tend to be gently winding and are a nice spot for exercises such as biking or skating. Bradley Park provides a nice place to walk under some tree cover and throw a ball with your dog, as does Merrill Park. Jeffery Manor borders the large natural area of the Van Vlissingen Prairie. This huge natural area provides you and your dog with miles of space to wander and explore.

Jeffery Manor sits next to a large and beautiful wild area in the Van Vlissingen Prairie. This natural habitat provides a home for all kinds of wildlife due to its ecologically diverse environment. Marshland provides a home for wading and water birds, as well as turtles and frogs, and also provides safe drinking water for all kinds of other wildlife like foxes and raccoons.

Some of this park is densely forested, so you will get to experience hiking through a thick and mature forest environment. While you may not see all of the wildlife the forest contains, your dog will enjoy smelling the trails left by animals, as well as hearing the scuttling of wildlife in the undergrowth. This forest is large enough to contain lots of different sights and allows you to wander all day through different habitats without retracing your steps, so that you and your dog will be happy and tired at the end of the day.
