“It’s a good day for a walk!”
I have two dogs of my own and I’ve always had dogs dating back to my childhood. My partner is a vet technician and we actually came together over our love of dogs. My career allows me to work from home and I have a good amount of free time, which is why walking dogs is perfectly suited for me.

“Fear free certified veterinary technician”
I am a veterinary technician in a very busy emergency/critical care department. I absolutely love caring for sick and injured animals. I have been walking dogs for a few years and find it to be enjoyable and relaxing for both of us. I am fear free certified which means I am always aware of your pets fear, anxiety and stress and will work to reduce that. I’m also RECOVER BLS and ALS CPR certified.

I have a 7-year old daughter and I'm going to school to be a nurse at Quinsigamond Community College. I was a groomer for 12 years and went to Becker College for my veterinary science degree. The town of Northbridge, Massachusetts is located in Worcester County. It was founded in 1772, but it didn’t really kick off until the 19th century, when it became known for being a manufacturing town. Many of these mills are still standing today, although they are no longer in use. The community finds it important to preserve the architecture developed in the 1800s, and perhaps this is one of the reasons that Northbridge is part of the Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor.
If you’re here, though, you’re probably wondering how you can enjoy Northbridge with your furry family members. Unfortunately, Northbridge doesn’t have any dog-friendly shops or restaurants. Northbridge also lacks any dog parks. Luckily, there are some options not too far away from town. Many of these options are actually within a 20-minute drive, and your dog would certainly be grateful to go exploring. Northbridge does have a couple of veterinarian offices, though, so if you’re in need of care for a sick or injured pup, you won’t have to look too far.
Northbridge is a beautiful town with a rich history, and if you’re looking for somewhere new to visit, it deserves to go on your list!
A mere five miles from Northbridge, you and your adventurous dog can go visit Purgatory Chasm State Reservation. It’s believed that the natural formations here were actually formed during the last ice age. That’s 14,000 years ago! The trail runs between huge pieces of granite that seem to tower ominously above, but the rocks are secure. Park officials recommend that you wear hiking boots for the trek, and your dog absolutely, pawsitively must be on his leash while you’re exploring. It’s for his own safety; you wouldn’t want your dog falling while checking everything out. Don't forget to bring the waste bags!
West Millbury is only about ten minutes from Northbridge, and if you don’t mind spending a bit of money for an annual pass, make sure to visit Butler Farm Dog Park. For visitors outside of Millbury, an annual pass costs 20 dollars, but the pass is good for an unlimited amount of visits. This bark park has plenty of space for your dog to get some off-leash exercise and play with his new friends. You will want to bring along some waste bags, as none are provided by the park. Seating is available for dog owners.
Ashland State Park is about 14 miles north of Northbridge, and if you’re looking for somewhere scenic to enjoy a walk with your dog, you’ve got to go visit! This beautiful park has a hiking trail that runs around the lake located in the park, offering an incredible view. Locals recommend going as the sun sets. It’s best – and required – to keep your dog on a leash, as there’s wildlife in the park. Make sure to bring along plenty of drinking water and waste bags, as it’s your job to clean up any messes your dog leaves behind.
The area surrounding Northbridge is filled with state parks, which means you and Fido have plenty of places to explore together! For a pawesome time, head to Hopkinton State Park, which is about 20 minutes from Northbridge. A few different trails wind through the park, and you can find trail maps online. You will want to keep Fido on a leash, and make sure to bring along plenty of water for both of you. Fido is also welcome in the picnic shelters scattered throughout the park, so bring along a doggy bag for the both of you!
Yet another state park in the area, Whitehall State Park is less than ten miles from Northbridge. The trail located in this park is just over six miles in length, so whether you’re a beginner at hiking or you’ve been doing it for a while, the length is perfect for you and Fido to take on together! The trail winds around the perimeter of the park. Fido has to be on a leash, and you have to clean up after him; if you don’t, you could get a ticket from a park ranger. Are you up for the adventure of Whitehall State Park?
