McDougall-Hunt is a neighborhood located northwest of Detroit's downtown area. The community is about a 10-minute commute to the central business district. There is a small commercial area in the neighborhood on the north side with a service station, local eatery, a pharmacy, and more local businesses located on the thoroughfare that borders the region on the south.

Pet owners can walk southwest to the 3 Dogs 1 Cat pet supply shop to pick up a treats, food, toys, and other accessories for their dog. You may want to consider looking at warm doggie coats if your pup is not prepared for cold weather as daily walks during winter months can be pretty chilly in the Detroit area. Rainfall can put a damper on your plans to venture out with your pup if you don't have a rain jacket handy. Summers are warm with occasional hot, humid spells. When heat is factor, venture out earlier or later in the day.
