“Big or small, I love them all!”

I started my career with animal care in 2009, when moved from VA to NC to join the vet tech program at Gaston College. Currently I work, as needed, at a busy animal emergency hospital in Charlotte. I'm available full time and am fully capable of caring for your pets during your absence. Whether the absence is an afternoon walk, or a weekend getaway I will follow any instructions you leave regarding the care of your pets. I look forward to meeting the extra additions in your household.

“Keeping your pet safe is my #1 priority.”

I am a retired federal government employee, having spent 20 years with the US Department of Justice primarily. I possessed a top secret clearance while at the DOJ. I am reliable and trustworthy and, most importantly, I LOVE animals. In fact, I am happiest when I am around them. My husband and I have a miniature Schnauzer, Lady, whom we adore. Other than caring for my own dogs, I have at least three years experience walking dogs and taking care of cats (and fish and turtles!) for others.

Dog Walking in Cleveland

Cleveland, North Carolina might not be the most famous city by that name, but to all 900 of its residents, it can’t be beat. Visit Cleveland to know the joys of a small town without leaving larger muttropolitan areas entirely behind. Cleveland’s small size means that veterinary care is a hop across the border in any of several directions, with Garner and Kings Mountain both boasting “Cleveland” titled animal hospitals.

Cleveland makes a great base camp for seeing all that North Carolina has to offer, such as nearby Eagle Point Nature Preserve, which is a short twenty minute drive away and offers amazing views and multiple trails for different hiking experience levels.

You’re also just a short hop to Lake Norman and Lake Norman State Park. This beautiful lake is a draw from all over North Carolina. Your dog has to remain on leash while inside the park, unless it’s time to go for a swim! Choose a clear part of the lake and your pup can dive in as long as he remains under voice control. Cleveland, NC may be small, but its heart is large. Bring your dog to make Cleveland a base of adventure to explore all the natural beauty of the area.

East Mt Ulla is home to Sloan Park, a great place to take your dog that’s only a 13 minute drive from Cleveland in the small community of Mt Ulla. This park is large, quiet, and great for dogs who don’t love the shouting and crowds of children’s playgrounds. Sloan Park has easy walking paths and plenty of space that’s shaded or covered. Dogs will love the calm, and their humans will love having plenty of places to enjoy lunch or nature right within the park. Dogs must be leashed in the park, and remember to  bring your own water bowls!

If your dog is ready for an adventure, leash up and jump in the car for the 15 minute drive to The Bullhole Riverpark in Woodleaf. This place has almost everything that pups need to have a great time! Start with human attractions like grillspots, covered tables, and restroom facilities. Branch out by the water paths and small river beaches that make this park truly exceptional. Water dogs will love the opportunity to rock climb and paddle in the South Yadkin River. There are also open grasslands, picnic expanses, and simple paths that run through the park. What makes Mazeppa Road Park an asset to locals is the fact that it’s open after dark. Several of the play fields are lighted, and the main paths have illumination. This makes it a great spot for people who don’t get off of work in time to take their dog to a park that closes at sunset. It’s never too late to swing by!

15 minutes from Cleveland is the Milford Knoll neighborhood of Salisbury, NC. Milford Knoll is home to Kelsey Scott Park, a less developed, wide open space that your dog is sure to love. The park’s main feature is its large, meadow like green spaces. As tempting as it is to let your dog off leash here, it’s not a dog park and not fenced! Still, your pup can enjoy all the natural green space to walk and sniff even while on leash. Remember to pack a water bottle for yourself and your pup, as this natural park doesn’t have many water fountains!
