The Rahway Transit Village is a centrally located region in Rahway where revitalization efforts and development around the transitway have taken place. This commercial area is a local entertainment district with pubs, restaurants, and theatres and is highly walkable with lots of businesses at street level for residents to access on foot. The terrain here is flat and there are sidewalks for locals to get around the area easily on foot with their canine pals. The Rahway River borders Rahway Transit Village to the east. This scenic waterway and green area are a prominent feature of the region and surrounded by more natural terrain that is worth exploring. The rest of the transit village area is more developed and artificial with the train tracks running through the community, providing access to larger centers for commuters and acts as the basis for the name 'Transit Village.'

The Rahway River and the surrounding terrain provide a greenway along the water with the Rahway River Parkway along the waterway where pedestrians can travel north-south in the region. The Rahway River Park sits just north of Rahway Transit Village and extends down into the community. This park and greenway pride itself on providing a balance of developed recreational use area and natural spaces. There are picnic spots along the river, athletic fields and facilities, pedestrian paths, and preserves for local wildlife. 

Just across the river, the Lower Essex Street Park and Waterfront Park sit across the river. These park areas have several acres of natural habitat for wildlife, a butterfly garden, wetlands, and trails to enjoy with your furry friend.

Veterans Memorial and Berzinec Parks are located in the area and have more developed greenways with facilities like tennis courts, ball diamonds, and other athletic fields and facilities with trees, lawns, and pedestrian paths.
