Northwest Teaneck is a residential neighborhood located in Teaneck, New Jersey about 45 miles off the New Jersey Coast. There is a commercial area on the northeast region of this district with a few businesses but most of the walkability of the area comes from tree-lined residential streets with interesting character homes.

New Jersey weather varies with the season and you will need to dress accordingly when walking your dog in the neighborhood. Spring rain and occasional thunderstorms require rain jackets and umbrellas to keep you and your dog dry. Summer is hot and humid and sweltering days can be uncomfortable. Fall in New Jersey provides beautiful dry, sunny weather that is perfect for daily walks with your dog and winter can be a bit unpleasant. Although warmer than some inland locations, Teaneck still experiences cold weather in the winter and sometimes even snowy conditions. You will need good outerwear and footwear for walking with your pooch.

Northwest Teaneck is located North of Route 4, east of the train tracks and south of the community of Bergenfield. The Hackensack River flows along the western border of the park and Indian Pond sits alongside this waterway.

The terrain is not as hilly as other Teaneck neighborhoods, although there are some rises that require some effort to climb when traversing the area. Residential streets are peaceful and shady with tree-lined boulevards which are ideal for strolling with your furry friend. Some residential areas do not have sidewalks and when hiking with your hound in these communities you'll want to keep your dog leashed.

Many homes in the community have unique architectural features and are very picturesque with lots of character and mature landscaping, trees, and lawns. Parks are located mostly along the river in this region and recreational fields and facilities are well distributed in the area.
