Middle Village is a residential neighborhood of Queens, New York. There are many businesses, shops, and services located throughout the region especially concentrated along the main thoroughfare of Metropolitan Avenue. Metropolitan Avenue has many unique stores and ethnic shops and delis and is the main commercial corridor in the neighborhood. There are also shopping malls located west of the community at Metro Mall and southeast at the Atlas Park Shopping Area.

The weather for walking in Queens is usually not too cold as the coastal location moderates winter temperatures. The climate is, however, damp with wet weather in winter which includes rain and sleet. Be prepared with warm, waterproof jackets for winter and spring and breathable fabrics for summer strolls. Autumn weather is usually ideal in New York for walking with drier conditions and temperate weather, however, be aware of possible inclement weather which can roll in from the Atlantic at any time of year.

Residents of Middle Village enjoy the 55 acres of Juniper Park which is located centrally in the community. Good news for your pup is that this park is a dog-friendly off-leash area so dogs can play and stretch their legs without being encumbered by a leash! Just make sure your dog is well socialized and has a good off-leash recall. Remember that you still need to clean up any messes your dog makes. There are plenty of paved pedestrian paths in this park, making greenways around sports fields, open lawns, and through treed areas. This area has many activities and features baseball fields, a running track, and football, and soccer pitches. There is a roller-hockey rink, spray showers, playgrounds, tennis, handball and bocce ball courts, and fitness equipment located here as well. Facilities like restrooms and eateries make this park a great place to spend an afternoon and let your pup romp!
