Bayside is an extremely affluent, large neighborhood located in Queens, New York on the shore of Little Neck Bay. It is largely residential with standalone, single-family houses. Home to middle-upper class families, Bayside was even recently ranked as one of the most expensive housing markets in the United States. Beyond the residential areas, Bayside is also home to chain and local restaurants, hotels, public schools, a movie theater, and several greenways. There are plenty of pet-related businesses in the area as well.

Bayside is a larger community with several identified sub-neighborhoods including Bayside Gables, Bayside Hills, Bay Terrace, Oakland Gardens, and Fort Totten Park.

Like the rest of New York and the Big Apple, Bayside experiences hot and humid summers. Thankfully, since Bayside is on the water, you may get a nice summer breeze every so often! In the winter months, you will experience freezing temperatures and snow. The spring and fall months are a bit more mild in nature.

Bayside is largely artificial, but there is some great access to the shoreline and public greenways if you are looking for a more natural getaway! Throughout the neighborhood, there are some slight changes in elevation, however, your walks should still be easy and you shouldn't stumble upon any steep hills or inclines. Most of the neighborhood has sidewalks, so you and your pup will be safe from traffic! But if you're looking for heavier hiking, you may want to explore the area's greenways or surrounding neighborhoods instead.

Since Bayside is such a large neighborhood, the boundaries are difficult to agree upon. However, generally speaking, they can be defined as Little Neck Bay to the north and east, Vanderbilt Motor Parkway to the south, and Francis Lewis Boulevard to the west. Cross Island Parkway, Bell Boulevard, and Northern Boulevard are other major roadways in Bayside which may require some caution when walking along.

Crocheron and John Golden Parks are adjacent, making one of the largest greenways in the Bayside neighborhood. Just remember to be courteous and keep your dog on their leash whenever the area calls for it. Picking up after them is also crucial to keep the area neat for other pedestrians and visitors.

Additionally, Little Bay Park, located in the northern section of the neighborhood, is home to a dog run, if you are looking for some off-leash time!
