Bayside is a larger community with several identified sub-neighborhoods including Bayside Gables, Bayside Hills, Bay Terrace, Oakland Gardens, and Fort Totten Park.
Like the rest of New York and the Big Apple, Bayside experiences hot and humid summers. Thankfully, since Bayside is on the water, you may get a nice summer breeze every so often! In the winter months, you will experience freezing temperatures and snow. The spring and fall months are a bit more mild in nature.
Since Bayside is such a large neighborhood, the boundaries are difficult to agree upon. However, generally speaking, they can be defined as Little Neck Bay to the north and east, Vanderbilt Motor Parkway to the south, and Francis Lewis Boulevard to the west. Cross Island Parkway, Bell Boulevard, and Northern Boulevard are other major roadways in Bayside which may require some caution when walking along.
Crocheron and John Golden Parks are adjacent, making one of the largest greenways in the Bayside neighborhood. They are home to dog-friendly areas, sports facilities, playgrounds, and an outdoor theater! There is also a small pond and plenty of walking trails that are perfect for your pup's long walk. Just remember to be courteous and keep your dog on their leash whenever the area calls for it. Picking up after them is also crucial to keep the area neat for other pedestrians and visitors.
Additionally, Little Bay Park, located in the northern section of the neighborhood, is home to a dog run, if you are looking for some off-leash time!
