This neighborhood is also home to several pet-related businesses! D'Rosas Dog Chic LLC, A Dog's Best Friend, and My Best Friend Too are several local groomers that may help your pup looking his or her best! There is also a local pet hospital, The Dog & Cat Doctor, in Rego Park.
The great New York City area, including Rego Park, experiences all four seasons, so always check the daily forecast before heading outside for a walk and make sure you are prepared for any kind of weather!
The boundaries of Rego Park include Long Island Expressway to the northwest, 102nd Street to the northeast, 67th Avenue and Selfridge Street to the southeast, and Woodhaven Boulevard to the southwest. 63rd Drive is another major roadway with more congested and high-speed traffic that pedestrians may wish to avoid.
The other small parks include Horace Harding Playground, The Painters Playground, parks attached to public schools, and several unnamed spaces. Most of these areas require your dog to be on-leash and there may be some spaces where dogs are not permitted, so be aware of all the rules and signage around these green areas.
However, if you are interested in a longer walk, the very large Flushing Meadows Corona Park and Forest Park are both 1-2 miles away and make great alternatives.
