Golfview Woods is a planned community on the northern edge of the Raymond Memorial Golf Course. Most of the neighborhood is given over to the residential community, but on the outer edges, there are a number of small industrial spaces.
There are several parks for you to explore nearby, but nothing within the bounds of the community. If you like to eat out, it's only a few minutes to a number of places to eat, some serving fast food while others serve sit-down fare. As for pet supply stores, there are a couple which, when you consider the snow and ice of winters here, is a good thing. After all, your pup still needs to eat!
Winters might be cold and nasty, but both of you are sure to appreciate the warm spring weather starting in late March or early April that makes going for walks much more enjoyable.
Golfview Woods is a carefully planned community built as part of the Raymond Memorial Golf Course. The streets are lined with sidewalks you can use to create a range of walking routes to keep from becoming bored with your walks. This part of the city even has the slightest bit of gradient to a few areas in the neighborhood which can provide something with just a little bit of pep for more athletic dogs and humans. Just be sure to watch the grounds near waterways which can be muddy during inclement weather. Nobody wants muddy shoes!
Otherwise, take solace in the fact that these roads are relatively quiet and free of any heavy traffic, save for Jack Nicklaus Freeway which makes up the western border of the neighborhood. There are also plenty of small fields of grass to utilize during your outings, provided you double check whether they are private or public property.
The golf course is the most obvious green space, but it is one where you and Fido are not welcome. There are multiple reasons for this, including the fact that no one likes the idea of trying to hit the ball where it lies when where it lies is in the middle of a pile of dog poop!
The nearest dog park is Spindler Dog Park, a short drive to the west. Like most dog parks in the Columbus area, Spindler is separated into sections for large and small breeds with water for the dogs and plenty of room for them to run! There are benches for you to relax on while your pooch gets out there and plays. The rest of the family can enjoy the rest of Spindler Park or perhaps the kids can take part in the summer soccer camp held at the location while you take your pup to play!
