Gaffney Lane is one of the southernmost neighborhoods in Oregon City, Oregon. This small, residential community is roughly thirteen miles from Portland, one of Oregon's major metropolises. While Gaffney Lane is largely residential, you can find several churches, schools, a craft store, a few chain and local restaurants, a bookstore, a bank, and other commercial businesses within this neighborhood. There are no pet-related businesses in Gaffney Lane, but there are a few vets and a pet supply stores in surrounding neighborhoods. 


Residentially, Gaffney Lane does have a few smaller apartment complexes, but the majority of this neighborhood is composed of standalone, single-family homes. 

Gaffney Lane, just like the rest of Oregon, tends to have hot and dry summers with average temperatures ranging from 60-85 degrees Fahrenheit. Thankfully, you won't have to deal with intense humidity in this Oregon City neighborhood! However, winters can be quite brutal with freezing temperatures and several inches of snowfall or freezing rain.

As a smaller, residential neighborhood, you and Fido should have a pleasant walk through the Gaffney Lane community. This beautiful neighborhood has some subtle, rolling hills, well-maintained sidewalks, mature trees that provide shade, and quiet neighborhood streets with little through-traffic. 

Providing that you're not deep into the winter months, walks in Gaffney Lane should be quite leisurely for both you and your furry friend. However, there are a few streets without sidewalks, so always be aware of your surroundings, make sure you have control of Fido's leash, and make sure to plan your walking route strategically. 

The borders of Gaffney Lane include South Beavercreek Road to the northeast, Trails End Highway to the east, Conway Drive and South Meyers Road to the south, South Meyers Road and Gaffney Lane to the west, and Clairmont Way and South Moccasin Way to the northwest. Molalla Avenue is the only other major roadway that goes through this neighborhood.

Unfortunately, there are no greenways or public parks in the Gaffney Lane neighborhood. Thankfully, there are several greenways in the surrounding areas. Hillendale Park and Wesley Lynn Park are the two nearest public parks to Gaffney Lane and both are located slightly northwest of this neighborhood's borders. Hillendale Park has a playground, a walking trail, several sports facilities, and a small wetlands preservation. The slightly smaller Wesley Lynn Park has a playground, a small walking path, and soccer and softball fields. 

Other local greenways include Rivercrest Park, Singer Creek Park, Barclay Hills City Park, Stafford City Park, Chapin City Park, Old Canemah Park, and Canemah Bluff Nature Park. Unfortunately, pups are not allowed in Canemah Bluff Nature Park, as they could potentially damage the sensitive nature preserve. 

Additionally, there are two dog parks located in Oregon City, both a bit north of Gaffney Lane. Barclay Park and Park Place Park are both homes to off-leash areas for your pup.
