Glenfair is an east side neighborhood of Portland, Oregon. Residents of the area have approximately a 30-minute commute to get to the central business district downtown, but locals can easily walk to nearby services. There is a gas station and restaurant on the southwest corner of the community, a restaurant and convenience store on the southeast corner, and more businesses on the northeast corner of Glenfair, so no matter where you are located in the region, you can reach establishments on foot.

Glenfair is a square shaped neighborhood bordered by Glisan Street on the north, 148th Avenue on the west, Stark Street on the south, and 162nd Avenue on the east. The neighborhood occupies 217.5 acres and is mostly a developed residential neighborhood with commercial activity on the borders where main thoroughfares are situated. Watch for heavier traffic in commercial areas when walking with your dog. 


Most dwellings in Glenfair are moderately sized, single-family homes. There are some low-rise apartment buildings in the area as well. The topography is flat and dog walkers and their pets can trek about the neighborhood without having to hike up steep hills. The area is also well landscaped with large trees, shrubs, flowering plants, and green lawns. 


Many residential streets do not have sidewalks along them and you will need to share the road with local traffic. Keep your dog leashed, away from the roadways, and walk facing oncoming cars to stay safe.

Glenfair Park is a 5-acre greenway associated with the local elementary school and amenities on the school grounds. The park serves as a basic earthquake emergency communication node for the community and is open from 5AM to 10PM. It consists of an open area with sports fields and some trees on the border. This park is conveniently located in the district and is accessible for locals on foot.

There is also an unnamed dog park located at Burnside Street and 162nd Avenue. This off-leash dog park is fenced with chain link and has a grass surface and large shade trees where your dog can play.  Bring your water supply and waste bags, supervise your pet in the park, and clean up after them to maintain the cleanliness of the area.

Parklane Park is located to the south of Glenfair. This large 25-acre park has a restroom, recreational facilities and fields, and unpaved hiking trails to explore with your pup.
