Paschall is an older community of brick row houses and small mom and pop corner stores. All areas have sidewalks, some with a grass berm, others without, depending on what area of the community you live in. There are streets lined with shade trees to help keep you and your dog cooler in the summer sun. The neighborhood does suffer from serious crime issues, making it not the safest place to go walking with your pooch unless you have at least one other person with you. The neighborhood is not well-kept and there are a lot of dark alleyways. Beyond this, Paschall is a very diverse community with a lot of cultural influences.

The climate is quite moderate most of the year with an average summer high of 97 and a January low of 26. It does snow here in the winter with an average of 15 inches while it rains with approximately 47 inches annually.

Gently rolling hills is the best way to describe most of Paschall, along with plenty of concrete and tarmac. There really isn't much of anything green for your dog to walk along beyond the small strips of grass lining some of the streets. The best way to make your walks more challenging is likely to be trying different routes or heading over to Cobbs Creek, depending on how safe you feel walking in the shade of the woods running alongside it.

There is always the Mt. Moriah Cemetery, but many cemeteries frown on people walking their dogs in them for obvious reasons. For anything more challenging in your walks, you will have to hop in the car and head up to Cobbs Creek Park or perhaps make a day out of it and head down to the John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge at Tinicum, an excellent place for the whole family to enjoy.

Within the community of Paschall, green spaces are very hard to find outside of your own backyard. The only park is McCreesh Playground and Skatepark. While not the ideal place to play with Fido, there is a sidewalk going all the way around it along with areas of grass to play on.

Alternatively, you can cruise over to Cobbs Creek Park where the trail runs for 3.7 miles along the creek, featuring a single steep hill on the journey with minimal street crossings to deal with. Designated as a tree-lined parkway, the trail also takes you through several neighborhoods on your journey. Along the way, you have the chance to connect with several educational and historic sites such as Bartram's Garden and Mansion, making the walk well worth the effort. Your dog is sure to appreciate the chance to run around on the grass running beside the paved trail!
