Spring Garden is a diverse neighborhood located in east Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A residential community, Spring Garden is located next to some of the most iconic, cultural, and historical areas in the City of Brotherly Love. Spring Garden is composed of beautiful brownstones which vary between single and multiple-family homes. There are also a few apartment complexes located in Spring Garden. Commercially, Spring Garden has plenty of amenities! It is home to several schools, greenways, local restaurants, bars and coffee shops, a bank, several art galleries and installations, grocery stores, and several churches.

Spring Garden is also close to several notable areas and landmarks including the Community College of Pennsylvania, Rodin Museum, Washington Monument Fountain, the Philadelphia Art Museum and the acclaimed Rocky Steps, and the Eastern State Penitentiary.

Spring Garden, like the rest of Philadelphia, experiences muggy summers and snowy winters. Spring and fall tend to be more mild, but can also bring chillier or rainier days.

Being so close to City Center, Spring Garden is largely artificial, urban terrain. All the greenways located in this neighborhood are manicured and without natural terrain. Because of the artificial terrain, however, you and Spot should remain safe from that city traffic by staying on the well-maintained sidewalks. Additionally, this neighborhood is relatively flat, so you and your pup don't have to deal with hills that could create a more strenuous workout than desired.

The boundaries of Spring Garden include Fairmont Avenue to the north, North Broad Street to the east, Spring Garden Street to the south, and Pennsylvania Avenue to the west. While the grounds of the Philadelphia Art Museum are great to explore and walk around, Pennsylvania Avenue and the other roads near the Philadelphia Art Museum are often congested, especially during rush hour. Please always remain aware of your surroundings and keep control of Spot's leash while out exploring the city!

There are plenty of other greenways located near Spring Garden. Smaller, nearby greenways include Matthias Baldwin Park, Francisville Playground, and Logan Square. Additionally, there are acres of greenways to explore outside of the Philadelphia Art Museum.

Finally, there is a dog park located in Spring Garden! The Green Street Dog Park is a membership-based off-leash area for you and Fido to enjoy!
